Product Care Griddle

Dalum griddles are designed to make your outdoor cooking easier and more enjoyable. Here are some helpful tips to get the most out of your griddle and keep it in top condition:

Before you start cooking on a pan or Dalum griddle, you need to season it. This creates a surface that provides excellent cooking properties and makes the griddle easier to clean and maintain. The more you use your Dalum griddle, the better it will become!

When using your griddle, make sure to fire it gently to avoid overheating and burnt food. Adjust the heat according to the dish you're cooking, just like you would at home. When cooking over an open fire, the wind can affect the heat, so feel free to use a windscreen if necessary.

Use any type of fat during cooking, and avoid excessive heat. Dalum griddles are made of 100% steel, so you can safely use metal tools without worry.

When it's time to clean your griddle, it's best to do it while it is still warm or lukewarm. Use water and a spatula to loosen food remnants, and avoid using dish soap too often. When cooking over an open fire, soot may accumulate on the underside, so wipe it off before storing it to keep the cooking surface clean.

If food remnants stick, you can use coarse salt to absorb fat and grime. Scrape off the salt and wipe the griddle clean. Store it well-oiled in a dry environment to prevent rust.

For any rust spots, use steel wool or a grill brush to remove them, and then clean according to the steps above. Avoid overheating and using the griddle as a fireplace to maximize its lifespan and efficiency.

We hope your Dalum griddle becomes a faithful companion in your outdoor cooking and adventures!
