Fried apples with almond paste
This is a delicious dessert that is fun to make on the griddle or on the Trangia kitchen.
Recipe: 4 people
Ingredients
4 apples
Almond paste
Almonds peeled
Dark syrup
Butter or oil for frying
For the serving: tasty to eat together with custard or whipped cream.
Do like this:
Core the apples. Cut off the top and bottom of the apple so that you get flat surfaces. We then usually split each apple in half carefully with a knife so that you get two parts with holes in them. Put the apples aside.
Chop the almonds and roast them carefully on a dry griddle or frying pan. Stir constantly with the spatula. When ready remove the almonds from the griddle and mix the roasted chopped almonds into the almond paste.
Now fry the apples on medium heat in butter or oil on the frying pan and flip a few times so that the apples don't get burnt. After a few minutes, when the apples have softened and you have a beautiful brownish surface, the apples are ready.
Press the almond paste into the holes of the apples and put them back on the griddle. Drizzle dark syrup over the apples and turn the apples a few times on the griddle and the syrup will create a lovely looking and very tasty caramelized surface.
Done!
Place the finished apples on plates and drizzle some syrup over the apples.
If you wish, you can enjoy this dessert together with custard or whipped cream.
If you don't have a whisk with at hand, you can whip the cream in a plastic bag instead. Put the whipped cream in a plastic bag, inflate the bag it a little and seal it. Shake the bag and in a few seconds you will have whipped cream. Tip. Put the kids on this, they think it's super fun.
Good luck!
