Outdoor Cinnamon buns

Cinnamon buns made from ready-made pie dough are super tasty buns to make on the gridlle on the outdoor cooking trip with family and friends. You make the buns from ready-made pie dough and fry them on the griddle over an open fire. They become slightly crunchy in the heat of the butter and sugar, super delicious.
Serve the buns with coffee or hot chocolate.

Recipe, 8 cinnamon buns

  • 1 roll of pie dough - rectangular
  • 100 g butter at room temperature
  • 1 dl sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar

Roll out the dough, dont remover the paper. Mix together 100 g of butter, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla sugar. Spread the filling on the dough. If you like almond paste, a tip is to cut small pieces of almond paste and put them on the filling before you roll the dough. Roll up the dough (without the paper) from the short side. Cut the roll into approximately 2 cm thick slices.

Fry on a low-medium warm griddle, if it gets too hot it is easy for the cinnamon sugar to burn and you get black buns, so start on a low heat and increase the heat if necessary. Fry the buns for a few minutes on each side and when the buns have turned golden brown and the dough has baked, the buns are ready.
